Classy Cards Grandma's Bouquet

Hi friends!  I make lots of cards but I'm the worst at actually putting things in the mail.  I made this for my mom and plan on having my children give it to her.

I used a number of Cheery Lynn dies on this.  Did you know that the Classy Cards 'n Such shop is running a sale.  All Cheery Lynn dies are now 50% off?!  Use code CLD during checkout.

I started by creating the pink Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms flowers.  I stamped the flowers with a dark pink Memento Ink and cut them out using the matching Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms Die.  I sponged Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress inks on the petals using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and then shaped the flowers using a Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and molding mat. To add a little glam, I added a flat-back pearl to the center of each.

I cut the Cheery Lynn Small Lollipop Cutie Fringe with white card stock, sponged Squeezed Lemonade distress ink to the edges with the Mini Ink Blending Tool, and rolled them with the Roller Tool from the Paper Blossom Tool Kit.  I added a little glue to the beginning and end so the flowers would stay tightly rolled.

After the flowers were done I cut four of the Sue Wilson French Collection Corners out of the beautiful Gold Leaf Metallic Paper.   I mounted the four corners together on paper from the Kaisercraft On This Day paper pad, backed with another piece of Gold Leaf Curious Metallic before gluing them to the cream 5.5 x 5.5 card.

I arranged the flowers and adhered them with foam pads.  This way if I needed to I could peel them up and reposition, I wouldn't have the same flexibility with glue.  I added Cheery Lynn flourish die cuts around the flowers.  The leaves and flourishes were cut out of Cryogen White card stock and have a soft shimmer.

The Cheery Lynn Grandma die cut was covered in Frantage Silver Embossing Powder.  I love this stuff, it's large flakes coat everything so nicely.  After adding the Frantage the die cut looks like a metal embellishment.

Classy Cards Hello Princess

Hi! Today I'm sharing a card I created for the new Letter It Challenge at the Classy Cards 'n Such Blog.  I took inspiration from some of the gorgeous new dies now in the Classy Cards store.

I used Pearlescent Embossing Paste and the Memory Box Tula Stencil to create the background.  I die cut two of the same Tattered Lace Ferns, sponged distress ink on the edges with my Mini Blending Tool and then glued them to the embossed background.

The Poppystamps Princess Butterfly was cut twice, once with an apricot paper and again in white card stock.  I bent the edges of the butterflies to give them a more 3D appearance.  I then covered the white butterfly in glue and sprinkled it with glitter.  I attached the two butterflies together with glue, offsetting them a little so the bottom color would show.   I added rhinestones to the center of the butterfly and then popped it up with Joy Foam Pads.

I wrapped the top layer of card  stock with twine  and then used Joy Foam Pads to adhere it to the green card stock underneath.  I glued down the green layer and then cut the Hello word out of the same green card stock with an Impression Obsession alphabet die.

Classy Cards Winter Song

Hi, this is my card for this week's Classy Cards 'n Such Winter Birds Challenge.  After seeing the inspiration photo I immediately thought of the Impression Obsession Birch tree die, but as it's still on my wishlist, I turned to other beautiful dies in my stash and this is the result.

I wanted to frame a scene so I started by cutting a frame using two dies from the Spellbinders Matting Basics A set.  I then cut the Impression Obsession Bare Tree and Impression Obsession Deer.

I arranged the interior dies, glued them to the back of the frame and cut off any overhanging feet and branches.  I added Joy Foam Pads to the back of the die cuts,  flipped the frame to the front, covered it in glue and then sprinkled glitter over the entire scene. After the image had been glittered, I pulled off the Joy Foam Pads backing and pressed the frame onto the blue card stock to adhere it.

I stamped my sentiment in black and then cut a little red bird from the Impression Obsession Small Birds die. I glued him to a sparkly branch to finish the card.

Classy Cards Enjoy

Hi friends!  I made this card using the new Couture Creations Tied Together die.  Doesn't this die create a gorgeous background?  Similar to the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms die that I use on everything lately, this is fast becoming one of my go-to favorites.

I love Clean and Simple cards but just can't seem to ever make them work.  What starts as CAS usually quickly turns to Cluttered and Complex. I had additional embellishment ideas but I thought maybe I could stop at this point and possibly salvage a CAS style card.

I cut the Couture Creations Tied Together die with white card stock.  The die is a bit longer than an A2 size card so I trimmed it.  I then cut a center  rectangle from the front of my card base using a Spellbinders Curved Matting Basics die.  I glued the Tied Together die cut to the underside of the card front then glued a piece of Authentique Favorite paper behind the to finish off the inside. I added rhinestones to the centers of the die cut.

Next, I rounded the bottom corners using a corner rounder.  I then cut a frame using two Spellbinders Curved Matting Basics sets.  I adhered the frame to the card using Joy Foam Pads.  It might be difficult to see in the photo but the layering really adds to the overall dimension.

I cut the Enjoy die and colored it with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and tumbled glass Distress Ink before glittering it with a Wink of Stella pen and gluing it to the card front.

Last, I cut the Heartfelt Cretions Arianna Blooms flower.  I left it in the die while I dabbed tumbled glass distress ink around the edges with the blending tool.  Coloring it in the die created  a small white edge around the flowers. I popped it out of the die, shaped it with my Paper Blossoms Tool Kit,  added Rock Candy to the center and adhered it to the card front with Joy Foam Pads.

Classy Cards Framed Flowers

Hi, this is my card for the Classy Cards 'n Such Pink and Polka Dots Challenge.
I began by cutting out the Impression Obsession Hollyhocks die and coloring the pieces with copics.  I then used a Wink of Stella Glitter Pen to add a beautiful sheen to the flowers.  I put the flowers aside and cut a piece of design paper from the Love Letters paper pad.  Some of the small background circles are also sparkly.

I found two more sheets of paper I liked in the same paper pad.  I used the green one to cut the vase from the Cheery Lynn Vase set and used the largest frame from the Impression Obsession 6 in 1 frame to cut the darker pink paper.I popped the frame up with thin strips of pop dots and added d imensional adhesive behind the vase and some of the flowers as well. The Hello word was cut from Kraft card stock using the Impression Obsession Greeting set. Last, I used some Baby flat-back pearls to accent the vase.

Thanks for looking! Hope you can come and join this challenge for a chance to win a great prize!

IO Winter Window

Hi, I created this for a challenge at Impression Obsession.  It's another shaker card.  It sparkles in real life but unfortunately most of it isn't showing up in the photo.

I combined two IO Window with Shutter dies to create this larger window.

Classy Cards Winter Window

Hi!  I'd like to share a new shaker card I've made.  I started by using a top folding A2 card base.  Then I cut a piece of card stock 1/4 of an inch smaller on all sides and then used a Cheery Lynn Window B die to cut the center.

On the main card base I stamped the Stacy Stamps The Woods stamp using distress ink.  I stamped the stamp three times to fill the scene.  Then I sponged blue distress ink on the background using my Mini Ink Blending Tool.  I went over the trees with stickles for sparkle and let it dry.

Before I put a piece of salvaged plastic (from toy packaging) and foam tape around the card to create the shaker and trap the glitter, I cut a piece of frosted self adhesive paper using the Impression Obsession Icicle die and adhered it to the top of the window.  Once the shaker was assembled the adhesive side of the icicle picked up the glitter. The icicles aren't as distinct but really sparkle.

Once the shaker portion of the card was finished, the exterior of the card looked too simple.   I cut Cheery Lynn Holly Leaves, Flourish Band and Lace Corner Deco J to embellish the front.  I cut the lace corner four times and stacked them for dimension.  Before gluing them to the card I added white glitter to them.  I used the same glitter on the holly before I adhered the leaves with Joy Foam Pads.

I embellished the Flourish band by coating it in Frantage Embossing Powder before gluing it to the card front.  And last, to finish the card I added three rhinestones to the holly leaves.

Thanks for looking and remember all Cheery Lynn dies are 50% off with coupon CLD (only one coupon per order).  There's also still time to enter this week's Classy Cards 'n Such Challenge.  I hope you can join the fun this week!

Classy Cards Sparkling Snowflakes

Hi, I made this for the Classy Cards Teal Snowflakes Challenge #66.  I usually spend a lot of time creating cards, sometimes putting things aside for days until layouts or elements feel "right" but this one, after a couple of starts on other occasions, came together in a snap.  I love when that happens.

I glued the white Memory Box Bristol Snowflake to the Joy 8 Point Design die cut.  The Joy die was cut from a silver glitter paper and adhered to the aqua card stock using Joy Foam Pads.  I cut both layers of the A2 size card using different dies in the Spellbinders borders set.  Classy Cards has a similar set in stock Spellbinders A2 Borders 3.

To finish off, I coated the white snowflake with stickles and added a Mother of Pearl Rhinestone to  the center.  It's difficult to see in the photo but the snowflakes are very glittery in real life.

Thanks for looking and I'm looking forward to seeing your snowflake challenge entries at Classy Cards 'n Such!

Dies R Us Birthday Bouquet

Hi,  I made this for the new Anything Goes With a Twist (Something New) Challenge at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  Come over and join the fun for a chance to win a gift voucher to the Dies R Us Store.  There is an amazing selection of dies and free USA shipping if you spend over $35 and free International over $50.

This Magnolia Tilda stamp, Die-Mensions Birthday topper die and Spellbinders Labels 42 Decorative Elements are all new for me.

The Spellbinders Labels 42 die is gorgeous but because it's so intricate I found that using a layer of wax paper between the die and card stock helped with smooth removal from the die.  I love this new die-mensions birthday topper.  It's such a different die that adds a fun element on projects.  I'm looking forward to embossing it and making it look like metal on future cards.

Thanks for looking and get some of your new goodies together and come and join our latest challenge!  Happy New Year!
