Cheery Lynn September Release Blog Hop - Gift Cards!

I made this little gift card using the new Decorative Window Gift Envelope.  I decorated both the envelope and the card.  This die set comes with the main die to create a little envelope, a square to cut a little insert card, plus a number of other little accent dies like the adorable birds in this card and the flower.  There are even a few more dies included that I didn't use.  

This was so fun to make and I hope this has inspired you to give it a try.  These cards are perfect to put on a larger card (as Eva did), add to a small gift or use in a gift bag.  The Happy sentiment came from the Winter Holiday Word Set.

I embellished the back of the little card inside with the Thinking of You Square die.  It fit perfectly! Below is the card front with the little blue flower in the corner.  It's a single panel that I cut using the square die from the set.  It would be simple to cut a folded card though like some of my teammates did.

IO Winter Window

Hi, I created this for a challenge at Impression Obsession.  It's another shaker card.  It sparkles in real life but unfortunately most of it isn't showing up in the photo.

I combined two IO Window with Shutter dies to create this larger window.

Classy Cards Winter Window

Hi!  I'd like to share a new shaker card I've made.  I started by using a top folding A2 card base.  Then I cut a piece of card stock 1/4 of an inch smaller on all sides and then used a Cheery Lynn Window B die to cut the center.  

On the main card base I stamped the Stacy Stamps The Woods stamp using distress ink.  I stamped the stamp three times to fill the scene.  Then I sponged blue distress ink on the background using my Mini Ink Blending Tool.  I went over the trees with stickles for sparkle and let it dry.

Before I put a piece of salvaged plastic (from toy packaging) and foam tape around the card to create the shaker and trap the glitter, I cut a piece of frosted self adhesive paper using the Impression Obsession Icicle die and adhered it to the top of the window.  Once the shaker was assembled the adhesive side of the icicle picked up the glitter. The icicles aren't as distinct but really sparkle.

Once the shaker portion of the card was finished, the exterior of the card looked too simple.   I cut Cheery Lynn Holly Leaves, Flourish Band and Lace Corner Deco J to embellish the front.  I cut the lace corner four times and stacked them for dimension.  Before gluing them to the card I added white glitter to them.  I used the same glitter on the holly before I adhered the leaves with Joy Foam Pads.  

I embellished the Flourish band by coating it in Frantage Embossing Powder before gluing it to the card front.  And last, to finish the card I added three rhinestones to the holly leaves.

Dies R Us Holiday Window

Hello!  I designed this for the Dies R Us Christmas in July Challenge.  Hope you can join us to play for the chance to win a voucher to the Dies R Us store.  The selection of dies is absolutely incredible, it seems like the store adds new dies daily!  They also offer free shipping in the US over $35 and internationally over $50.  

Close up you can see how the poinsettia's shimmer.  I covered them in a fine white glitter and gave them rhinestone centers. 

For the interior of the window, I blended distress ink and water on white cardstock.  After I was done, I wanted it to look softer so I added a piece of wax paper over to create a stained-glass effect.

I added tiny rhinestones to the ends of the swirls.  The window was colored with TH Distress Metallic Stain.  I added a piece of plastic (from toy packaging) underneath the window frame with foam tape to add dimension.

Holly Jolly Christmas Show me some glitter

IO Provance Window

Hello friends and welcome to my blog!  Instead of simply collecting dies, stamps and paper, lately I've been using my stash.  If I'm going to prove to my husband that I'm not just the proud owner of a wonderful craft collection, I thought I'd finally start using the blog he helped me create a few years ago. 

This is my first time using IO's window die. I'm not sure the photo shows it but the window has a piece of clear plastic on the inside for glass.  I used a lot of foam tape to add dimension. The shutters are popped higher on the sides so they look as though they are partially open. 

The roses were created using Impression Obsession's Spiral Flowers die.  Before rolling them with my quilling tool I sprayed the roses with red smooch spritz and the spray was enough to color the white die cuts.  It's difficult to see but they do shimmer. Then I formed the roses using a quilling tool.  I colored the white organdy ribbon red with some leftover spritz on my craft mat.

I cut the leaves from Impression Obsession's leafy branch die and colored them with Copics. I punched a piece of yellow cardstock with the scalloped EK success punch and then rolled the paper through my crimper before adhering it to the inside of the window.

I used Distress Ink on the window, shutters and flower box and used Kraft paper (that I brushed with more distress ink) for the background.
