Birthday Wishes

Hi peeps, today I'm sharing a birthday card.  I like to have birthday cards handy but never seem to have enough.  I really like blue and green together as a color combination and I found a paper pack that had these colors so I cut stars, added rhinestones and voila, the card was finished.

The Birthday wishes die actually came within a circle but it was so simple to cut out and use by itself, a couple of cuts with my scissors and the die works in two ways.  I love adding versatility to my supplies.

Hi crafty friends! With Memorial Day past and the 4th of July coming up I've been in the mood to create patriotic projects. The focal point of this card is the star shaker.  It's a snap to create using the Cheery Lynn Star Shaker Set. I cut pieces of foam and clear acetate that came in the set to make the shaker, added in the sequins and voila!. I love the star for it's versatility, it's great for birthdays and celebration projects.

I used the Pierced Banners Die to cut the stamped sentiment but modified the shape.  To get the fishtail edge on both sides I rolled it halfway through my Big Sister, making sure to only cut the fishtail edge side.  I then flipped the die, lining up the pierced detail and rolled it through the machine again cutting the fishtail edge on the other side. The holes make this die easy to line up and recut.  This quick modification is anther way to get more out of your die.  The solid blue stars are from the Pierced Stars Set and I used a Square Stitch & Cut Tool to get the stitched edges.

Cheery Lynn Ridiculously Amazing

I created this card by making a distress ink background using blue and green shades. After I made the rainbow of colors I sprayed blue and green shimmer spray's over the top.  It may be difficult to see in the photos but the stars really sparkle.  I cut paper to back the colored paper with and then used the Pierced Star dies to cut out the stars on the top.  The star layer is popped up with foam tape for added dimension.

After standing back to look at this I think it could be really fun with hat or shamrock dies and a good luck sentiment.

Cheery Lynn Blue & Gold

Hi crafty friends!  It's Jenny here today sharing a centerpiece project I made using Cheery Lynn dies. All of my school-aged children are in scouting and the big cub scout anniversary dinner blue & gold is typically held around February in our pack.  I am helping out this year by creating centerpieces.  

The theme of this year's dinner is Western and I thought the new Mandela Doily die looked similar to designs I've seen on bandanas.  These centerpieces are essentially card toppers or simple lollipop cards.  I taped skewers to the backs of each and then finished the backs by gluing another piece of card stock, sandwiching the skewer in the middle.  I added sand to the bottoms of mason jars so the skewers would stay positioned in the direction I wanted. 

Before assembling, I used a makeup sponge and distress ink to age the edges with a little ink.  The distressing helped tie the blue and gold colors with the western theme.  After I adhered the skewers to the stars, I thought they'd be great done in pink for a girl's birthday and could double as wands.

Scrapyland Halloween Tag

Hello! I'm sharing a Halloween Tag today for the new Scrapyland Pockets/Tag Challenge.  I used a few of Cheery Lynn's new dies for this as well as a Memory box stencil with a pearlized embossing paste.

I started by coloring the tag with distress ink and then using the embossing paste and stencil over top.  Some of my stars came out cleaner than others but I hid some of the mistakes with a Cheery Lynn Circle die.  I then added some new Cheery Lynn bats on top (I just love the detail on these bats!).  The Pierced Stars are also Cheery Lynn dies and the centers were cut out using a magnetic platform to hold the dies in place while the centers were cut out to get just the star edges.

Cheery Lynn Birthday Stars

Hello!  I'm back today with a card using these new Pierced Stars from the July  Cheery Lynn Designs Release.  I used three different sizes from the set and cut the centers out of two of them to get the outline.  I used a magnetic shim to help with the positioning of the dies so the resulting star would have an even edge.

I used an A2 size base card to start, glued a yellow card stock mat on top, then adhered the patterned paper on top with foam adhesive.  I glued three of the yellow Pierced Stars on top and popped up one with foam adhesive for extra interest.  Happy and Birthday were cut and layered over the stars.

For this card I used an A2 card base, then added a blue mat, then a red one and then used the Frantic Stamper Star Card Panel on top.  I cut the star card panel a second time and paper pieced in some of the blue stars.

I added three Cheery Lynn Cutie Fringe #4's that I rolled with a quilling tool.  The blue Celebrate word is from Frantic Stamper's Stars and Stripes Photo Card Die.
