Happy Blossoms

Hi, I'm posting today with a card I created for the Impression Obsession challenge "Happy Flowers". I just finished this under the wire.

I used yellow as the central color because it always seems happy.  Here's a close up of the flowers I made with IO's new Spiral Flowers die.  I was so happy to get the larger version of this die since I use the smaller one often.  I glued blue rhinestones to the yellow flower centers.

Classy Cards Just Because Tag

Hi friends!   I'm posting today with a new tag I created.  Tags are so much fun to make, I always feel free to just play and mix things up.

I cut a tag from an old folder.  I covered the damask stencil from my stash with Translucent Embossing Paste.  While the embossing paste was drying I stamped images from the Parisian Postcard set in black on the right.  I added a few more stamps over the embossing paste after it dried. Then I added and blended Distress Spray Stains and some Distress Ink from my stash.  I cleaned off the stenciled portion with a towel and then laid out my embellishments.

I found these two flowers already made in a scrap bin.  They were both cut from Heartfelt Creations dies.  The yellow rose was created using the Botanical Wings die, yellow Glimmer Mist and clear stickles.  The blue flower was made with the Arianna Blooms stamps and dies and colored with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

I tucked leaves from Cheery Lynn's Tropical Leaves die and branches from Memory Box's Meadowbird Branch die behind the flowers.  I added a sparkly Clear Rock Candy center to the yellow rose and a rhinestone to the blue Arianna flower.

The Just Because sentiment is from the JustRite Floral Labels Two Stamp Set.  The circle it's on is a small one from a Spellbinders die from my stash and the center was colored with distress ink.

Classy Cards Birthday Wishes

Hi, today I'm sharing a card for the new Classy Cards 'n Such Fancy Pearls challenge.  Add a pearl, use one item sold at Classy Cards 'n Such (this is the easy part, there is such a wide selection) and link up a new project for a chance to win a great prize!  If you use my coupon JENNY-10 you can save 10% off your entire purchase at the CCNS Store.

I found this frame in my scrap bin and began creating.  It was cut with Love Letters paper using Impression Obsession's 6-in-1 Frame die.  The Memory Box Petite Cakes were cut from another soft pink paper from the Love Letters 6x6 paper pad and decorated with liquid pearls from my stash.

The Memory Box Scalloped Cake Stands were heat embossed using Shabby White embossing powder from the Frantage Embossing Powder set.  I love the shiny coverage and the cake stands look like glass.

After the cakes and frame were assembled and adhered to the background paper using Joy Foam Adhesive Pads I decided the card needed another color.  I found a pretty green coordinating paper in the Love Letters paper pad and cut the Impression Obsession Tied Line and Impression Obsession Greeting Set to get the Birthday Wishes phrase.

Then came the fun part.  I glued pearls to the sides of the frames and a Rock Candy adhesive gem to the center of the bow on the Tied Line die.   I sprayed the Chalk White Seam Binding with Pearl Glimmer Mist and scrunched it before tying a bow.  It really shines.  The bow was tied to the frame using some silver twine from my stash.

Classy Cards Happy Birthday!

Hi, I'm posting today with a Clean and Simple style card I made for a friend's birthday.  It's featured on the Classy Cards 'n Such Blog today.  If you use coupon JENNY-10, you can save 10% off your entire purchase at the CCNS Store.

I began by cutting the Memory Box Lattice with Kraft card stock.  I cut the Happy Birthday using Impression Obsession's Greeting Set dies and colored the phrase with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.  The Tattered Lace Fern die was cut with white card stock and colored with a variety of  green Distress Inks and a Mini Blending Tool.

The flower was created from the new Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings die.  I wanted a flat flower for easier mailing so I only used three of the layers.  After spritzing with a Glimmer Mist from my stash I molded the flower using my Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and Molding Mat.  I applied Stickles to the edges and then added a Clear Rock Candy center.

Last I popped up the top card layer by using Joy Foam Pads to adhere it to the A2 card base.  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out CCNS's Going Green Challenge that ends today for a chance to win a great prize!

Classy Cards Happy St. Pat's

Hi, I'm posting today with a card for Classy Cards 'n Such's Going Green Challenge.  The challenge is a simple one - use Green and Neutrals on your card and make sure to use one item sold at the CCNS shop.  Remember to use my coupon code JENNY-10 to save 10% off your entire purchase.

I hope you all had a wonderful St. Pat's day!

First I cut Kraft card stock with Couture Creations Tied Together die.  It makes such a delicate backdrop.  I adhered it to a green polka dot paper from the Vintage Bliss Paper Pad, then popped the panel up off the A2 card front with Joy Crafts Foam Adhesive Pads for dimension.

The large flowers were cut using the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings die and dotted paper from my stash.  Yellow distress ink was added to the edges using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The petals were shaped with tools and molding mat from my Paper Shapers Tool Kit.  After assembly I glued green rimmed rhinestones from my stash to the centers.

The Cheery Lynn Cutie Fringe flowers are wonderful as accents and roll so easily with the Rolling Tool from the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit.  Before rolling, I colored the fringe flowers using a green spray mist from my stash for sparkle.

The sentiment is from an old stamp from my stash.  I centered the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die around the words before cutting.  Using the die as a stencil I then sponged peeled paint distress ink over the sentiment with my blending tool.

Last, I arranged the flowers and adhered them with Joy Crafts Foam Adhesive Pads to the card front. I added some green leaves and mini flourishes from dies in my stash to complete the arrangement.

Classy Cards Bee Friends

Hi, I'm posting today with a new Classy Cards 'n Such DT card I made using the new Memory Box Open Studio Busy as a Bee die.  These Open Studio dies coordinate so nicely and to keep the design CAS I didn't use other dies.

I first cut the honeycomb strip out of white card stock and colored it black with Black Soot Distress Ink.  While the honeycomb was drying I cut the little swirl design out of the card stock. I added a piece of yellow paper behind the white and then glued the honeycomb back into the negative space.

The bee was cut twice, once out of black paper and once out of yellow.  The yellow bee body body was brushed with Twinkling H20's for a little shimmer.  I assembled and glued the bee together and then added Joy Foam Pads to adhere him to the paper.

The sentiment is from the Justrite Vintage Labels Two stamp set.  After stamping the friends sentiment, I layered the main panel onto black card stock and then onto an A2 card. For a little added bling I glued three black rhinestones to the top corner and also glued tiny yellow rhinestones to the bee's antennae.

Classy Cards Thanks Border

Hi, I'm posting today with a card for the current Classy Cards 'n Such Blog "On The Edge" challenge. It's a simple challenge with lots of possibilities.  Create something new, include a border and make sure one item on your project is sold at the Classy Cards 'n Such Store.  Join us this week for a chance to win a great prize.  You can even link up at the end of this post!

When planning my card I immediately thought of this Sue Wilson French Border die. It's one of my favorites and because of the large size and beautiful design, it always makes a statement.

I first cut two of the Sue Wilson Border dies with white card stock.  I adhered them to the top and bottom of paper cut from the Authentique Favorite 6x6 Paper Pad.  I backed the Authentique DP with a piece of solid blue card stock.  The blue card stock was adhered with Joy Foam Pads to the white A2 card underneath.

The center Tag is a matching Sue Wilson French die that is part of the same set as the border.  I cut it using the same blue card stock from the background.  I popped up the tag doubling up two layers of Joy Foam Pads for extra dimension. To finish I glued the Thanks word from the Impression Obsession Greeting Set to the center of the tag and added white pearls and silver rhinestones.

Classy Cards Name Frame

Hi,  this is posting today over at the Classy Cards 'n Such Blog. I've made Jungle and Princess themed name frames for my younger children but not for my oldest.  He is bridging to Boy Scouts soon and I thought it was time to finally make him one.

I began with a 7.5" square of light blue paper.  The frame is 8"square.  I cut the letters with a die from my stash out of brown paper and then added distress ink with my Mini Ink blending tool to make them look a little dirtier.    I also added a clear glaze to the top of the letters so they'd have a more substantial "feel".

I mounted the blue layer onto a larger sheet of green card stock with Joy Foam Pads.  The green layer was then backed with brown card stock to pick up the color from the letters.  I added the white mountains popping them up with Joy Foam Pads and then added the main Kraft foreground panel also adhering it with Foam Pads.  I distressed the Kraft card stock with green distress ink and a Mini Blending Tool.

The Impression Obsession Fir Trees were cut from dark gray-green card stock and grouped to create the background.  The ones in the foreground were adhered with foam pads for dimension.  The smaller Impression Obsession Evergreen Trees are darker green.

The Poppystamps Fireplace Logs and Poppystamps Warm and Cozy Fire die cuts were colored with distress ink.  The fire is popped higher with foam pads too.  I added a little gold paint to the edges of the fire for visual dimension and shine.  Last I adhered a tent die cut from my stash with Joy Foam Pads.

Classy Cards Construction Time

Hi, I'm posting today with a card I made for the Classy Cards Be Inspired Challenge. The inspiration photo was so sweet.  All those little cars on the quilt reminded me of these adorable Memory Box vehicle dies.

First I stamped a white A2 card using distress ink and an Impression Obsession Cover a Card stamp from my stash.  These Impression Obsession CAC stamps are huge and will cover an entire card front.  The hill was cut out of Kraft card stock using a Spellbinders Border die.  The clouds are from a die in my stash similar to the Memory Box Puffy Clouds die.

The Excavotor and Dump Truck dies are both from Memory Box.  I cut them once in yellow and then again with black card stock.  The vehicles were popped up using Joy Foam Pads.  I cut two fence dies, joined them and then cut the bottom so the fence wouldn't hide the dump truck.

I cut the Impression Obsession grass four times layering them behind and in front of the fence.  The bottom of the front grass was trimmed so the one behind would show better.  I also popped up the grass with Joy Foam Pads for dimension.

Dies R Us Dream Big

Good Morning!  Thanks for stopping by today and Happy March!  There's still a foot of snow on my lawn but March gives me hope that Spring is coming.  :)

I created this card for the new Monochromatic Challenge at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. All dies on this card are from Cheery Lynn Designs.  Come join the new challenge for a chance to win a $10 gift voucher to the Dies R Us store!

The card base is a 5.5" cream square.  I first distressed the edges of a piece of DP using a distressing tool and ink.  Then I popped up the DP with foam adhesive and tilted it so the card base made an irregular border around it.

The Cheery Lynn Gardenia Flowers, Cutie Flowers, Flourish Leaves, Nautical Wheeler Doily, Clock, Dream Big words and Mesh Border were all cut out of white card stock and colored with neutral (and a little pink) distress ink.  The Gardenia die always creates gorgeous flowers.  Here's a closer look:

I cut the banner with another design paper and glued the dream big words.  I used the center of the Nautical Wheeler Doily for the center of my clock.  I added foam adhesive behind it and it fit perfectly.
