Cheery Lynn Thank You

Hello!  This new (for me) Historic Barcelona doily die is so beautiful and intricate I kept the rest of this card simple.  I don't usually use a lot of black on my cards but black can be such a crisp almost statement color so I thought I'd try something different.

I began with a black 5.5" card base.  I cut the Historic Barcelona Square and the Royal Scandinavian Doily out of white paper and layered a piece of Tiffany-blue colored card stock in between.  I layered another square of blue card stock on top and then adhered a black Royal Scandinavian Tag using foam tape.  Thank you is glued to the top of the tag.

I don't know id you can see it well in the photos but Thank You is covered in glitter glue and I added four rhinestones to the corners of the alpine doily die for a little extra glamour.   This card was simple and elegant and could be easy to replicate multiples as a gift for a bridal shower.

Cheery Lynn Texas Rose

I'm sharing a card inspired by this week's Cheery Lynn Designs challenge Handmade Flowers and the state dies from the new North American Release.  This began as a Cowboys football card but I can't seem to make a card without flower, so I added some yellow roses and went another way.  My 11 year old recognized the Cowboys star and colors and seemed a bit annoyed that I'd make a card that celebrated a team other than  his favorite.

It might be difficult to see but the large blue square was cut with the Square Pierce & Cut Tool die so that the pierced edge matches the edge of the blue Pierced Star.  I then layered a piece of white card stock that I distressed with a tool and distress ink.  The wood grain is a piece of design paper from Prima.

Most of the die cuts were colored with distress ink.  The Tea Roses were cut with a light yellow card stock, sprayed with glitter spray, and aged with a little brown distress ink on the edges.  The white rose centers and the babies breath flowers are from the Embellishments #2 set.  The boots from the Arizona Cowboy set were glued to brown card stock and then cut out so that the detail would stand out.  I just love these boots, the detail is amazing.

Welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs April Release Blog Hop!  I am so excited to show you the fabulous new North American dies.  If you arrived from Debbie's Blog you are on the right track.  If not, you can head back to the blog HERE to start from the beginning.  Make sure to stop back at the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and leave a comment for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate.

This card was so much fun to make.  There is so much inspiring state art on Pinterest to look through and next I hope to make a frame using a few of these dies.  I kept the card simple.  I was thinking of the "I Love NY" song from the old tourist commercials while I was making this.

I wanted to use the large apple from the Best Teacher Ever die set but I wasn't sure how to cover up the wording.  I finally decided to cut a white apple to cover the words and leave a red apple border with the leaf and stem.  I used Prima paper for the maps that were cut with the Pierced Banner dies and the new New York die.  The shading was done with distress inks and a makeup applicator foam.

Cheery Lynn Thank You

Hello, I'm sharing a card I made using flowers I saved to use in a name frame.  My new niece is only a week old, so I figure I still have time to make more flowers for her project.  Instead with patterned paper from Martha Stewart and the Quadrafoil Doily and Tag dies, I created a thank you card.

I colored the Chrysanthemum and Small and Large Gardenias with distress ink and spray mists.  The gardenias both have a nice shimmer.  The flowers were shaped using a molding mat and stylus tools.

I cut leaves from the Build a Flower #2 die and tucked them underneath the flowers.  The Quadrafoil Tag was popped up higher using foam tape for added dimension.  I also glued flat-backed creme pearls to the corners of the Quadrafoil Square Doily.  The Thank You die was also colored with a little distress ink so it would stand out more against the Tag.

Cheery Lynn Wonderful Friend

Hi, I'm back today sharing a friendship card.  I was inspired by the 3D Daisy Flower die.  After I cut, colored the rolled the 3D flowers with my quilling tool, I thought I'd make purple flowers to complement them.  Once I cut and colored the miniature roses and the larger Sweet Williams flower with spray mists, I realized that the flower colors complemented a piece of Prima patterned card stock in my stash.

I cut the card stock, distressed the edges, glued it to a white 5.5" square card and then added the Princess Garden window on top before arranging my flowers and adding the words Wonderful Friend.

Dies R Us Scallops Challenge

Good morning!  I'm sharing a card today that's also featured on the Dies R Us Challenge page because it's the beginning of the latest challenge - use scallops!  I hope you can create a project and join in the fun for a chance to win a gift card to the Dies R Us store.

I layered pink paper on an A2 sized card and then cut a scalloped rectangle out of the gingham paper.  The doily was cut out of white card stock as are the words.  I colored the stork and baby with distress ink and then used stickles on the feathers and blanket holding the baby.  Here's a closer look.
