Cheery Lynn Sunflower

Hi everyone!  It's Jenny here today hosting the blog.  I've been in a summer cardmaking mood lately and I wanted to play with my sunflower die and some new-for-me rust effect paints.  I cut four of the sunflowers adhering the layers together with foam tape.  The black centers were created using a black paint pen.

Lately I'm using more black in my cards.  I love the striking contrast when using light accent colors. I sponged the flowers with distress ink, painted the petals with a shimmery acrylic and then brushed two colors of rust effect paint on top.  The thank you circle was just cut and colored with distress inks.

Cheery Lynn Sunflowers

It's New Release day at Cheery Lynn Designs!  Today I'm excited to share a card using some of these beautiful new dies.  But don't take my word for it, if you haven't gotten a chance to see them all, why not pop over to the Cheery Lynn blog HERE. Check back here and at the CLD blog tomorrow too for more inspiration and the chance to win a $20 shopping spree in the blog hop.

I used the new Sunflower Set to create these big, gorgeous flowers.  They are fun on a card but their size would also make them perfect for a scrapbook page.  For another look the petals could also be double layered.

I colored the sunflowers with distress ink and then added a gloss to the center of the flowers for added interest.  The flower pot is the second largest out of the set was cut out of design paper and colored with distress ink for dimension.  The sentiment was cut out of the same design paper and  glued to the new Dutch Daisy Tag.

HM Cheese Wishes

Hello!  This is my latest (and last) Guest DT spot over at the House Mouse & Friends Challenge.  The latest challenge theme is Food, Glorious Food!. You have two weeks to play, they always have great inspiration and fabulous prizes, so what are you waiting for?  :) Hope you can pop over and play along!

I was planning on using my HM blueberry tart stamp but when I finally sat down to work I couldn't find the image I'd colored.  I chose this as a replacement because I haven't used the stamp yet and it was quick to color.

I think I was in a sunflower mood after working on my latest Classy Cards 'n Such DT card for the Sunflower Inspired Challenge. I don't usually use a lot of yellow but when it comes to mice and cheese, I didn't think pink would be very appealing.  :)

I was inspired by a Mojo Monday sketch I found on Pinterest.  Thanks for looking and I can't wait to see what yummy creations you create!
