Cheery Lynn Birthday Wishes

Hi, I'm posting today with a card inspired by blue flowers I saw on Pinterest.  I love looking around on all the boards.  If you missed any of Cheery Lynn's blog posts and want to see more inspiration you can follow them on Pinterest.

I started this card by creating the blue flower, choosing a background paper that coordinated with the colors.  Then I filled in the leaves from the Floral Bouquet Kit die, added the Birthday Wishes Circle on top of a circle from the M4 set and last added a small butterfly.  It was really a quick card to make, the longest part was probably accordion folding the leaves on the flower.  I hope you like the result.

To finish things off I glued a gem in the center of the Stacker Flower #5 and more on the butterfly and embellished the leaves with glitter glue and the petals with glossy accents.

Cheery Lynn Dream Big

Hi, today sharing a nautical card.  I hope you had an opportunity to join in the Cheery Lynn June New Release Blog Hop.  I had so much fun creating with the new dies and thank you for all your sweet comments on my blog!

If you follow my posts you know I love using dies to add dimension to projects. It was so easy to add height to this card by stacking the waves.  Typically I add double sided foam tape between layers, but for this card I just didn't glue down the wave tops to the card stock.

The tops of the waves were sprinkled with Frantage embossing powder for a foamy look.  The boat was cut out of dark gray paper and then I cut a second boat bottom out of metallic silver.  The bottom of the boat was also backed with the darker gray paper for contrast where the detail holes show.  I cut an aqua green sail for the large sail and covered it in glitter glue and then in a clear glaze.  It really stands out on the card.  Dream Big and the clouds were also accented with clear glitter glue.

Cheery Lynn June Release Blog Hop - Whimsical Collection!

Hi friends!  Welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs June Blog Hop featuring the new Whimsical Delights release!

I am so excited to show you a few of the fabulously fun new dies.  Check out my teammates blogs along the hop so you can see all the new dies in action!  If you arrived from Debbie's blog you are on the right track.  If not, you can head back to the main blog HERE to start from the beginning.  Make sure to stop back at the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and leave a comment there for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate.

These new Whimsical Flowers are so fun to play with.  I think they lend themselves to a Clean and Simple style so I didn't color with ink (my usual) and instead used colored paper for a cleaner look.  I cut the flowers once in green and then in different pinks.  I also glued pink card stock behind the Whimsical Hippo to get the pink accents.  The For Someone Special die was cut twice to get the shadow effect so the pink stands out more.

The card is triple layered.  I cut a circle in a white 5.5" card using one of the dies from the Circle Stitch & Cut Tool die set.  I then used the same die and the next larger die in the set to cut the stitched ring with black card stock.  I adhered the white card stock with foam tape to blue card stock to get the look of sky behind, and then matted the blue onto a black 6" card.

Cheery Lynn Imagine

Hi!  I am enjoying the newly released background dies and I'm sharing another way they can be used.  For this card I cut a piece of stencil plastic with the Chevron die.  Then I used the stencil with a white crackle paste to create the subtle background.  I sprinkled silver and gold chunky glitter and mica powders on the paste while it was wet.

Imagine was cut out of gold paper. The white layer was matted onto silver and then a light blue A2 card.  The Sakura flower was colored with distress ink and Copic markers, I used glitter glue and a clear gloss to embellish the flowers.  Last, I added a gem to the center of the large flower.  The flower was adhered to the paper with double sided foam adhesive.

Dies R Us You're the Best

Hello friends!  I'm sharing a card that's up on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog, which means it's time for a brand new challenge beginning today!  Come and join the fun for a chance to win a gift card to the Dies R Us store (and who doesn't love free dies?).

I used all Cheery Lynn Designs dies for this card.  I find that they are easy to pair, cut beautifully (even intricate designs) and I LOVE the gorgeous details in so many of the dies.  Check out the lines in the nest and bird wing above.

I colored everything with distress inks, used black paint for the bird's eye and feet and added little droplets of clear glaze on the eggs and fern leaves.  Thanks for looking and make sure to join in the current Birds challenge for a chance to win.  The main Dies R Us Blog and the Challenge Blog have so many gorgeous samples made by my DT teammates.
