These elves are probably my favorite die from this new release.  They can be used as Santas, elves or a mixture.  They feel folk-artish to me and remind me of a santa gnome I bought last Christmas.  They were so much fun to cut with different patterned papers.  They'd be cute in an ornament with fake snow and because of their shape they'd probably be easy to bend and slip into a glass ball. I may try that next.

I used the circle dies to layer colors on the inside mat.  The Happy Winter sentiment was the right size and the right font.  Last I added rhinestones to belts and bows and Snow-tex to the big elf's beard.  I wasn't sure I'd like the look and had a second beard left over so I added the dimensional paste and then glued the beard.

Cheery Lynn Hello

Hi friends!  Today I'm sharing a card I created after looking through my bin of leftover die cuts.  I've been doing some cleaning and I thought the best way to clean out is to use saved items.  The Wagon WheelChrysanthemum flowers and Dutch Daisy Border  were all previously cut and colored.  I cut the Ivy Strip out of patterned card stock.

The Hello is from the Bohemian Word Die Set .  I tend to use this set a lot, I just love the large hello and the font is both elegant and modern.  I cut the word twice to get the white shadow.  The center of the wagon wheel is a metal brad.  Last I added the butterfly because I thought the corner of the card looked a little too bare.

I hope you enjoyed my card and thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Make sure to check back on the 28th to join in the Cheery Lynn Blog hop to check out all the new Fall & Winter dies!

Cheery Lynn The Little Things Steampunk

Hi Everyone!  I've been itching to use the new patina paints I picked up last week and the first thing I wanted to paint with them is these gears.  The new Cheery Lynn Vintage Hot Air Balloon has been calling to me too.  I use the smaller hot air balloons a lot and this one is different enough both in size and style that it needed a place in my die collection.

I love how the background of the balloon is a perfect fit behind so it's easy to add additional colors.  I'm looking forward to cutting and paper piecing different colors inside the balloon to create a different look.

I painted the Gears and embossed both the Vintage Hot Air Balloon and the heart lock from the Whimsical Lock and Key set.  I adhered the front of the balloon to the background with a tinted glaze.  I found the sentiment in a paper pack and thought it was the right size to add to the card. Last I added the black rhinestones and the gold thread to the lock.

Cheery Lynn Magic

Hi Everyone!  The new Cheery Lynn Vintage Hot Air Balloon has been calling to me.  I use the smaller hot air balloons a lot and this one is different enough both in size and style that it needed a place in my die collection.

The die is a two piece set and I love having the backing for the balloon.   It is so easy to cut various papers to create different looks.

I started with the dark blue Vintage Hot Air Balloon and then cut the sparkly background.  I was originally planning a more complicated card but once the back was in place I thought the balloon could carry the design of the card on its own.  I ended up using a scallop die to add the white background layer.  The scallops reminded me of clouds and it added some needed interest.
