Cheery Lynn Once Upon a Time

Happy Thursday!  Today I'm sharing a card I created using some new dies from the April Cheery Lynn Designs release.

I designed this card around the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily and everything evolved from there.  The Shasta Daisy was colored with distress ink and shaped using a molding mat and stylus tool.  I added a shimmery embossing paste to the edges with a paintbrush for sparkle. The daisy was layered on top of the new Deutchland Super Doily.  It was the perfect size to layer behind the daisy for added interest.

The blue layer was cut using the Rectangular Scalloped A2 Frames die.  A pattern was cut into it using the second largest of the Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker A2 Frames.  The blue layer sits on a piece of patterned paper cut with the Deutschland Boutique Stacker A2 Frames which was then backed with a kraft A2 size card.  I popped up the Scandinavian Oval Doily with foam adhesive for dimension and then glued the Shasta DaisyPumpkin CarriageLeafy Flourish and Dripping Butterfly around it.

The Once Upon a Time Set was cut twice, once in blue and then again in brown.  I offset them so the blue shadow would be visible underneath the brown.  The tag they are layered on was cut using the Pierced Stacker 4 from patterned card stock and the edges were painted with clear stickles.

Classy Cards Cloud Confetti

Today I'm sharing a card inspired by the Classy Cards 'n Such's Cloudy Day challenge.  I tried to recreate the beautiful relaxing feel of the inspiration photo in a shaker card.  If you use my coupon Jenny-10 you can save 10% off your entire order at the CCNS store.

I made an A2 sized card out of a piece of Kraft Card Stock.  The Joy Crafts Waves were cut with a blue card stock from my stash.  I used the die as a stencil and highlighted the accents with peacock feathers distress ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

The shaker was created by layering two sizes of nesting circle dies.  I glued a piece of clear packaging material I salvaged from toy packaging to the back of the circle.  The shop has clear card stock that would work perfectly for this.  I stamped my sentiment onto white card stock and sponged tumbled glass distress ink around the words.  Then I used a really thick foam adhesive to adhere the circle to the sentiment layer after adding some bugle beads inside. I glued the back of the sentiment layer to the card front.  I tucked another piece of waves into the front of the circle too trimming until I liked the result.

The clouds are from a die in my stash but you could achieve a similar look with many of the cloud dies or even cloud stencils currently in stock.  I added a couple of them using Joy Crafts Foam Adhesive Pads.

The seahorse was cut from Joy Crafts Crab & Seahorse die set and colored with distress ink.  I sponged more peacock feathers distress ink over the die using it as a stencil and then added liquid pearls for interest.

Hi, I'm sharing a new card created with dies. There are a ton of brand new products at Classy Cards 'n Such shop including dies from the new April releases.  If you use my coupon JENNY-10 you can save 10% off an entire Classy Cards 'n Such purchase.

Hi!  There are a ton of brand new products at Classy Cards 'n Such shop including dies from the new April releases.  And if you follow my blog you know I LOVE new dies.  If you use coupon JENNY-10 you can save 10% off your  entire Classy Cards 'n Such purchase.

I started this card by cutting two circles using a Spellbinders circle set.  One was cut with white cardstock and a window was cut out of a blue mat that is slightly smaller than an A2 card.  I then sponged Antique Linen, Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn distress ink around the edges of the white circle using a Mini Ink Blending tool.  I filled in the bottom using grass from the Impression Obsession Grass Border die.  The Poppystamps Garden Step Ladder and Garden Pots and Buckets were also colored with distress ink.  Joy! Foam pads were used between the legs of the ladder and behind the pots for added dimension.

The birdhouse was cut from the Impression Obsession Birdhouse set.  I colored the main part with Tumbled Glass distress ink and cut the roof twice so I could add a bit of dimension by layering the red roof on top of the blue.  The little bird was cut from the Impression Obsession Small Birds set.

"Hello" is from a die in the Impression Obsession Greeting Set.  I sponged Festive Berries Distress Ink on a piece of white card stock before cutting out the word.

Cheery Lynn Happy Mother's Day

Hi, I'm posting today with a Mother's Day card.  After seeing the beautiful flowers my Cheery Lynn DT sister Julie made with the Black Eyed Susan Strip die I couldn't wait to play with this die.  The leaves are all from the Ivy Corner Flourish.  Here's a close-up.

I cut the Concentric Circles Mesh Border out of the background card stock, layered patterned paper behind the negative space and then glued another concentric circles border on top.

Last I cut the corners using the smaller die that comes with the Royal Scandinavian Tag 1 die.  I thought the pretty design coordinated well with the central doily.

Classy Cards Cherry Blossoms

Hi friends!  Today I'm sharing a card inspired by the new Classy Cards 'n Such "Cherry Blossoms & Dogwoods" Challenge.  This challenge had me stumped until I realized that I could turn almost any little flower into a cherry blossom!  Don't forget to use my coupon JENNY-10 to save 10% off your next order at Classy Cards 'n Such

I created the central image using the Memory Box Meadowbird Branch die set.  I cut the branches twice out of brown, white and green card stock.  The flowers are from a tiny flower die in my stash and I used a stylus from the McGill Paper Blossoms Tool Kit to shape them.  I cut the bird and colored him with distress ink.

The arrangement was glued to two Spellbinders Circles and they were popped up using Joy! Foam Pads for dimension. I glued them to the Poppystamps Claudette Frame which was adhere to a layer of Botanical Tea design paper.  I layered that onto a square of white card stock and then glued the entire sandwich to a 5.5" square blue card.

Last I added a Poppystamps Butterfly that was covered in fine glitter and backed with a pink Poppystamps Cheviot Butterfly and added three pink Dew Drops to the bottom corner.

Classy Cards Baby Buggy

Hi, I'm sharing a baby card today I created for Classy Cards 'n Such.  Everyone around me is having baby girls lately and I never seem to have enough baby cards on hand.  Don't forget to use my coupon JENNY-10 to save 10% off your entire Classy Cards 'n Such order.

I kept this card simple because the background paper can really stand on it's own.  The background paper is from the Love Letters paper pad and has a bit of shimmer that is difficult to see in the photo.  I thought the alphabet design was perfect for a baby card.

The Baby Carriage is a Memory Box die and I the gingham paper is from my stash.  The beautiful oval doily is Spellbinders Oval Bliss die.  The oval was adhered to the background using Joy! Foam Adhesive Pads.

The little buttons are from my stash and were adhered with Scor-Tape.  This stuff is incredible, it really holds on heavy embellishments amazingly well.

Cheery Lynn Made You Smile

Hi, today I'm sharing a card using a few new dies from the April Cheery Lynn Designs release.  If you missed all the lovely new dies yesterday you can see them HERE.  I made the coral roses and green leaves using the Tea Rose Medium die and coloring with distress ink.  The Chrysanthemum's were made with the Chrysanthemum Strip die and the centers were sponged with blue distress ink.

I layered a few different dies on the main part of the card.  The Horizon Coved Square was cut with cream card stock and glued to a blue-green 5.5" square card base.  On top I glued a piece of patterned card stock, then layered the Fleur de Lis Doily on top.  I used some of the pretty fleur de lis cut outs from the doily, colored them brown and then glued half back into the negative space in the doily.  There was an even number of spaces so I covered up the space where two would have met with the floral arrangement.  The circle and scalloped circle stackers were popped up with foam adhesive.  The circle dies were used as stencils to color the centers with distress ink after I stamped the sentiment from Riley and Company.

Last I cut the corners using the smaller die that comes with the Royal Scandinavian Tag 1 die.  The lacy design coordinated well with the Fleur de Lis Doily.

Classy Cards Spring Showers

Hello!  I'm sharing a card made for the new Classy Cards 'n Such Rainy Days Challenge.  The inspiration photo has such a bright, pretty mix of colors that I was inspired to re-create it.  Don't forget to use my coupon JENNY-10 to save 10% off your entire order at Classy Cards 'n Such.

I found this retired Quickutz umbrella die in my stash and began creating.  I cut paper from both the Vintage Bliss and Botanical Tea paper pads with the Impression Obsession 6-in-1 frames die.  I played with the colors, mixing up the layers and then glued them all to the Vintage Bliss yellow design paper.

All the small flowers were cut using Impression Obsession's Spiral Flowers dies.  The flowers were colored using distress ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool.  They were rolled with my rolling tool from the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit.

After gluing the umbrella using Joy Foam Pads and adhering the flowers with scor-tape, I added a small white bow and some bling.  Dew Drops were glued to the empty space on the bottom and I added pearls and rhinestones to the flower centers.

The sentiment stamp was added to a little tag modified from a tag die in my stash.  I used distress ink to color the center of the tag and adhered it to the card front with Joy Foam Pads.

Cheery Lynn Go Team!

Hi, I'm posting today with a masculine card using dies from Cheery Lynn's new release.  I cut three banners using the new Pierced Banners dies, one large and two small and then glued them to the green patterned paper.  The helmet was cut out of orange card stock and popped up with foam adhesive. Three footballs were cut from the Sports Pack dies and backed with white card stock before also adhering with foam adhesive.

T-E-A-M was cut from the Varsity Uppercase Alphabet.  The font coordinates well with the word "GO!" included with the Football Helmets.

Classy Cards Hello Mum

This Delicate Mum is my favorite die from the latest Poppystamps release.  I cut two stems out of a white piece of card stock cut 1/4 smaller on all sides than an A2 card.  I colored the die cuts with distress ink and then glued them back into the negative space.  I cut another two mums, colored them with lighter distress ink and curled up the edges of the flower petals before gluing the stems and center of the flower onto the first set of flowers.

Here's a close up.  I then added some dimensional white paint, sequins, and glued Pink Baby Pearls to the flower centers.  Last I added the word Hello from the Impression Obsession Greeting Set and added glitter to the flowers.

Cheery Lynn Time to Celebrate

Hi, today I'm back with a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs!  I've seen some beautiful blue flowers on cards lately so I decided to try my own.

The blue flowers were cut from the Cheery Lynn Gardenia Strip die with white card stock. They started out a little too green-blue and by the end became more purple-blue as I added glimmer mists. After drying they were shaped using paper molding tools, stacked and then glued.  The background was created by offsetting patterned papers and the Shoji Mesh Border die.

The chrysanthemums were colored with pink distress ink, shaped with a molding tool so they cupped inward and then pearl centers were added.  Distress ink was sponged onto the center of the smallest Horizon Fishtail Banner before gluing the Celebrate sentiment.  The sides of the banner were glued down and the center was popped up with multiple layers of foam adhesive so it would arch.

To finish I tucked green leaves from the Flourish Leaf Strip die and swirls cut from a purple patterned paper with the Tiny Fanciful Flourish die into the flowers.  The leaves and swirls were cut twice to make the arrangement really full.

Classy Cards Happy Daisies

Hi, I'm back with a card for the Classy Cards 'n Such Simply Yellow Challenge.  I hope you can join in this week!

I cut the Spellbinders Devine Eloquence die from white card stock and sponged yellow and blue distress ink on it.  It was glued to a gray piece of paper and then attached to an A2 size card.

The main panel was stamped with an Inky Antics stamp from my stash and colored with copics. Classy Cards no longer carries this stamp but does have a number of other adorable Inky Antics stamps currently in stock.  I glued small red rhinestones to the centers of a few of the flowers and painted all the flowers with a Wink of Stella pen for sparkle.  After the main image was complete I used the Spellbinders oval as a stencil and sponged more yellow distress ink around the image with a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

Classy Cards Birthday Rose

Hi!  I never seem to have enough birthday cards, especially when I need them in a pinch so it's what I make whenever I get the chance.I began by stamping the Stacy Stamps Rose Stamp with worn lipstick distress ink on white card stock.  The beautiful detail of the stamp stood so well on it's own that I left it uncolored.   It also saved time.  This was a quick card and I love when things just come together.

If you've seen my posts you know I love 3D flowers, and this card was no exception.  I cut the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings rose die with white card stock and colored the edges with more worn lipstick distress ink.  After it was shaped with Paper Shaper Molding Tools and glued, I pressed the finished flower into versamark ink and covered with a sparkly embossing powder from my stash.  Most of the glittery material blew off even though I heated from underneath but it left enough color and texture.   I then added a little yellow distress ink and glued a pearl to the center.

I found the rose leaves left over from another project in my scrap bucket but this botanical wings die does come with leaves too that are similar.  These were colored with a combination of mowed lawn and peeled paint distress ink.   The Happy Birthday sentiment was cut from the Impression Obsession Greeting Set.  This is my go-to die set for sentiments.  It has a lot of basic words in such a pretty script font and is a perfect size for card making.

Cheery Lynn Happy Birthday

Hi, today I'm sharing my very first post for Cheery Lynn Designs!  I tend to gravitate to using pinks, blues and greens on cards so I thought I'd try to mix things up a bit and use yellows and oranges.

I created the background by cutting the Princess Window from white card stock and gluing a slightly smaller piece of patterned paper to the back.  The window was adhered with foam adhesive to a another patterned paper cut with the largest Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame, and then backed by a gray 5.5" square card.

The orange Large Roses and yellow Cuties 3 flowers were colored with glimmer mists, shaped with paper shaping tools and glued with score-tape to the Princess Frame.  I tucked leaves and flowers from the Flourish Leaf Strip and Dandelions into the arrangement and added the distress ink colored mushrooms underneath.

I cut the Small Exotic Butterfly 2 with blue patterned paper and darkened the edges with distress ink. Happy Birthday was glued to the top of the Sentiment Tag 2 which was then popped up with foam adhesive.

Classy Cards Spring Scene

Hi, I'm posting today with a card for the current Classy Cards 'n Such Bunnies Rule challenge.  I created a scene with some of my new dies and I hope you like the result.

I die cut the baskets and colored them with a Mini Ink Blending Tool and distress ink.  Multiple layers of grasses were cut and colored and the baskets were nestled into the grass.  I used Joy Foam Pads to add dimension between the grass layers.

I die cut and colored the bunnies and used Joy! Foam Pads to adhere them in between the grasses.  The chicks were cut, sponged with ink and situated in the basket.  Black dots for eyes were added on both the chicks and bunnies.

For the tree branch I cut the  Impression Obsession Leafy Branch die twice, colored with distress ink and layered both together.  The bottom branch was glued down tightly but only the branches of the top layer were glued so the leaves could be turned for added dimension.

I blended distress ink over the background with a blending tool before gluing the clouds, making sure the clouds overhung the edges for a more natural looking scene.  The flowers were shaped with a stylus from McGill's Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and tiny rhinestones were glued to the centers for sparkle.

The last addition was the little fence which may be retired.  Classy Card 'n Such carries a similar die the Poppystamps Country Fence.
