Cheery Lynn One Kind Word

Happy Thursday!  I'm sharing a card I made that was inspired by the colors of my design paper.  I cut the leaf paper and before adhering it to an A2 card, I used the Curved Border die to cut the small holes pattern on the right side.  Then I cut a strip of blue paper and glued it on the left side.  It makes the card front look like a book cover and I like the pop of color it adds.

I made the flowers but cutting multiple layers of the Judy's Blooms die.  The centers were colored by blending distress inks.  I then used a spray bottle to spritz the front and back of the flowers before I crinkled the petals and then I let them dry before stacking.  I added green centers cut from the Build a Flower Embellishment #2 die.  The branches were from the same die.

I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then cut it out with a small Pierced Stacker 4 die.  The shape and pierced edge almost mirrors the subtle design on the right that was cut with the border die.  I used the Pierced Stacker 4 die as a stencil and colored the center with distress ink and then popped up the sentiment with foam adhesive.

Classy Cards Close to You

Happy Wednesday!  I'm posting today with a card for Classy Cards n' Such's  Red Black Rooster Challenge.  I started this card with a white  A2 card base.  I added a chicken wire background die from my stash that I cut with Kraft card stock.  I then cut the Sue Wilson Delicate Fronds die with red card stock and glued them on top of the chicken wire.

I stamped the Impression Obsession Why do Birds Stamp onto white card stock and then cut it out with a Spellbinders Labels 22 die.  Using the die as a stencil I colored the inside with distress ink and my mini ink blending tool.  It was then adhered using Joy Foam Pads for dimension.

Last I added a rooster from the Impression Obsession Roosters and Chickens die set.  He was colored with distress ink and then I brushed a little metallic champagne acrylic paint from my stash on top for added sheen.

Cheery Lynn Always

Hi, I'm sharing a new card inspired by Cheery Lynn's new Keep it Krafty challenge.  This turned out to be simpler than what I had envisioned but adding more seemed to take away something, so I left it simple.

I started by layering background papers.  I used a 5.5" square kraft card for the card base and cut the stitched pattern using the Square Stitch Nesting Set die.  I cut a piece of white card stock to a 5.25" square and distressed the edges. I topped this with a smaller red 4.75" square layer before adding two more layers cut with the Pierced Stacker # 3 die.

Using the die as a stencil I used two colors of distress ink to color the smaller Pierced Stacker.   The larger pierced stacker was embossed using the Diamonds and Starburst Embossing plate.  I added a neutral distress ink to the plate before embossing.

The heart was paper pieced.  It was cut with white paper, cut again with black and red and I cut pieces of the black and red die cuts and glued them to the white layer.  I glued the always word on top for a finishing touch.

Cheery Lynn Enjoy

Hi, Happy Thursday!  I began this card by looking through my design papers.  I wanted a soft looking card but then added the blue accents because it seemed to need more contrast.

I started by layering the background onto a blue 5.5" card.  I cut the cream layer a little smaller and glued the green design paper layer on top which was cut with the largest French Flair Stacker.  I then layered the Royal Scandinavian Doily, a blue cut with a smaller French Flair Stacker and then adhered the Royal Scandinavian Tag #1.  All three of the top layers were adhered using foam adhesive.

The Ivy Corner Flourish was cut out of blue paper.   The flowers were created by cutting the Sweet Williams die out of a shimmery cream card stock. The edges were inked with broken china distress ink and they were crumpled and stacked.  The centers are from the Embellishment #2 die and then pearls were added.

Classy Cards Wedding Cake

I'm sharing a new card today for the new June Wedding Challenge going on this week at Classy Card's 'n Such.  The inspiration photo was gorgeous and I toyed with the idea of making a garden scene but my desire to use this Impression Obsession Wedding Cake die won out. I love the little cake topper couple and the fun decorating bits.

I began by cutting the cake out of Curious Metallic paper.  It has a subtle sheen and it may be difficult to see in the photo but this paper can turn a simple card into an elegant one.

I glued the little details that came with the cake, cutting the edges of the scallops so they fit on the bottom cake layer.  They were sponged with spun sugar distress ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I pieced in some of the pink centers of the icing. I also used my blending tool to color the center of the rectangle frame behind the cake.

The cake was adhered with Joy Foam Pads to the beautiful Joy Crafts Rectangle frame which was also cut with Curious Metallic paper.  The rectangle is layered on top of a piece of patterned paper from the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Paper Pad.  The subtle design paper was backed with pink card stock and then a Curious Metalic A2 card base.

I added a bit of silver twine, baby pink pearls and some super-tiny pearls from my stash to add a little glamour.  Thanks for looking and don't forget there's still time to join in this week's June Wedding challenge!

Cheery Lynn Off to Great Places

Hello, I'm sharing a card made for Cheery Lynn's Red, White & Blue challenge.  I figured aqua counts as blue.  First I used the largest of the Deutschland Boutique Stackers to cut the blue layer that was glued to a white A2 card.  The red layer was cut with the Rectangular Classic A2 Frames.  I stamped the quote, cut it with a small circle from the Circle Classic Silver Stackers Set, and adhered it to the Nautical Wheeler Doily.  The interior of the circle was shaded with antique linen distress ink.

The flowers were cut with the Poinsettia Strip.  I used a light blue card stock and shaded the edges with peacock feathers distress ink.  I crumpled the petals for a distressed look and added rhinestone centers.  The leaves were cut from the Flourish Leaf Strip and flourishes from the Add a Flourish dies.  Then I tucked them into the flowers.

Last I used one of the Small Exotic Butterflies, colored him with distress ink, popped him up with foam adhesive and added rhinestones.

Classy Cards Thanks Bee

Hello!  Thanks for joining me today as I share my new Classy Cards 'n Such card.  Check out the inspiration photo for the Bee Happy challenge, it's beautiful! You can even link up your challenge card at the end of my post below.  The bees gave me the perfect opportunity to use my Busy as a Bee Memory Box Open Studio die set. If you place an order at Classy Cards 'n Such you can save 10% by using coupon JENNY-10.

I started this card by cutting the honeycomb and bee in black with the Memory Box Busy as a Bee die.  Looking though my design papers and realized I don't have much purple but I thought this paper would compliment purple flowers.

I cut the Memory Box Honey Blossom Sprig flower twice. I colored the first die cut, glued it and then cut only the flower heads from the second flowers.  The second flowers were cut with another design paper from my stash.  The flower heads were adhered with Joy Foam Pads and I glued pearls to the centers.

The composition needed something more so I found this Impression Obsession Rectangle 6 in 1 Frame in my scraps bucket, popped it up with Joy Foam Pads too, and then cut the Thanks word from another stash die.  The thanks word font matches the font in the Impression Obsession Greeting Set currently in stock.  It was cut with a creamy yellow card stock that matched the bee backing paper.

To finish, I layered the designer paper on white card stock that I colored with distress inks and then onto a base of Kraft card stock before adhering it to an A2 card.

Thanks for visiting!
