Hello crafting friends! I'm so excited to share the new Cheery Lynn release dies with you tomorrow. Make sure to check back here to see what I've made using some of the new dies.
Today I'm sharing a birthday card made with Cheery Lynn dies. I never seem to have enough birthday cards when I need them and I've been itching to use this dragonfly. He's a large die so he would also be great on scrapbook pages. I found this pretty designer paper in my stash and planned all the colors around it.
The Lattice #3 background was half of the die cut left over from another project. I thought it would work here instead of adding one of the doilies I usually use to back my florals. The flowers were made with the Tea Rose Medium die. I colored them with distress ink, shaped them with a molding tool and added rhinestone centers. I used the matching leaves that are also in the die and added in the Olive Branches. I added white flowers to the Olive Branches from the baby breath kit in the Embellishment #2 set. The tiny flowers add interest.
The dragonfly was cut twice. The top layer was colored lighter colors and covered in glitter glue before being glued onto the darker backing. Happy Birthday were cut in a dark purple paper to match the background layer.
