For the base of this card I used a 5.5" square card. I then cut two pieces of blue card stock at smaller 1/4" intervals. The center circles were cut from two Classic Circle Sets. I glued the blue frame together and then worked to design the inside beach scene behind. I ripped kraft paper and glued it to the back of the blue circle and then added wave border die cuts behind.
Foam adhesive was used to adhere the blue mat and then I glued in the umbrella. I find it easier to add another color behind detailed die cuts instead of double cutting and paper piecing. I did this with the umbrella, beach ball and drink dies. The chair was double cut and layered offset to add more red into the scene. When creating my cards I often try to add colors or elements in threes to balance the design.
My favorite part of this card was the drink die. It comes with all these tiny detailed elements like ice cubes, the cherry, drink umbrella and lemon wedges. It was so much fun to put together and I can't wait to use it on another card.
